I am getting a routine together these days about 6 classes a week, 10 or so milongas most weeks and two classes of spanish. Sleep the rest of the time almost from 4am till 10 or 11. The temperature here hovers around 15degrees and this is supposed to be the coldest month. For me it is grand but the locals find it cold. It takes about half an hour to get to my favourite milonga which is where I do most classes also. I am there for classes 3 times a week and 5 milongas. The people who go there are excellent dancers most know me and are happy to share some tandas with me. Except for the salsa, rock and paso dobles tandas I can be on the floor all the time.
I am moving flat tomorrow to a two roomed apartment so I have a separate living and sleeping quarters. It is also on the inside of the apartment block so it is quieter than where I am. At the moment it sounds like rush hour from 6am till 9pm. Sundays are more quiet but not by much. BsAs is a very noisy place everywhere it can be very wearing after a while. There are around 12 million people living in this city so it is to be expected I guess. The flat is unfurnished but I brought a pressure pot and kitchen tools, so I will buy a futon which can double as a couch for around €100. I'll scrounge a few bits and pieces from friends here and there, I'll be fine and dandy. It has a fantastic wooden floor so I can practice with a partner.
I had to lay to rest my favourite dancing pants as the crotch was worn to nothing from all the dancing. Fortunately I bought two more just before I left Ireland I will probably wear them out also.
Last night I tried for the first time a pair of Suede shoes I bought the last time I was here. Very comfortably the first time out even after 6 hours dancing. They need a lot of care as the dirt sure shows up on them. Another reason you don't want people stepping on your toes. This time round I will buy some custom made shoes. Even then they will cost less than €50.
