Hi I'm back, back here and in BsAs. I landed on the 23rd Nov 2004 9:12am safe and sound after an uneventful (boring) flight. Such is life boring is sometimes just right. As I write this, it is the 28th of December 2004 4 weeks into my third visit to BsAs. What!! is drawing me here bringing this yahoo halfway across the equator one would like to say planet as the flight plus stops takes 16 hours +/- plus planet sounds further longer....bigger better.... Tango is my excuse, actually, really quiet feeble yet, at the same time, wonderful. The truth is, truth is calling inexorably relentlessly and currently I am that, idea of me that is allowing encouraging Tango to be my truth. Imagine that, in this very first paragraph both boring and fickleness are encouraged. Anathema to contemporary living/thinking. The I of me loves it.
So what about the Tango end of things. The day after I arrived I am back in class with Pablo and Dana. pic here They have a great welcome for me and it is good to be back I feel at home very comfortable, "muy comodo" for me they are two of the best, dancers teachers in the world. They have lots of fun between themselves and their students in all classes. They are taking two classes a week in El Beso which will finish before the end of December. In January they open their own studio which will host Tango, Yoga, Jazz and Salsa classes from 10 am till 10pm Monday to Saturday. On the milonga front I visit Canning on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. PorteƱa y Bailarin on Sundays, one or two others at odd times.
I will spend more time studying in the new year. From 4/5 hours a week to couple of hours a day. I plan to start a Spanish course early in January which shall consist of 3 hours a day 5 days a week for 4 weeks, in all 60 hours of lessons my brain wilts at just the thought of it.
I have a broad band internet connection in the apartment which may help this web page but there's no guarantee of that, mind you when it is written up it facilitates ftping the update. The great benefit of this is that I can listen to the news whether it is RTE or more frequently BBC Radio 4. They both have a collection of programmes that you might have missed and can have another chance to listen to. This is a fabulous resource and use of the internet I am listening to a documentary on the Irish Argentinian connection on the RTE site. Christmas is still very weird with so much heat and sunshine than said we had rain over the Christmas and the temperature was below 20deg. It is back up in the mid late 20's as I write this. We had our party on the 24th I though I would avoid the turkey but not so, fortunately it was a small one and was consumed within 2 days. Roasted with the juice of 6 lemons loads of butter and some salt it tasted great. Along with the turkey I made some inari sushi deepfried tofu pockets fill with rice and other bits and pieces. These one used shitake mushrooms, seaweed and roasted sesame seeds. Also we had Zaru soba this is a cold noodle dish with a dipping sauce and wasabi (the green hot stuff you get with sushi).
