Hi again I hope you all had a great fortnight with the Christmas and New Year festivities. All is well here. I went to a fantastic show last night "Tango Love & Sex" It has 6 or 7 couples dancing through out, several set pieces which loosely describe the evolution of Tango. The choreography and dancing is exemplary. Two singers who have wonderfull voices. All in all one of the best shows I have seen in my seven months here. Choreography is by Doris Petroni, Dana Frígoli, Pablo Villarraza and Laura Roatta Director is Héctor Aure. Last week I saw a show "Plan B Tango" this was a mixture of Break dance and Tango. I loved it I think eclectic mixtures such as this can be fantastic. This show did a great job of it. Choreography Natalia Games and Gabriel Angió Direction María Pantuso. These two and "Orestes ópera tango" have been the best shows I seen here. All the shows I seen have had great dancing but some lack variety and can be relentless with the same sounding music. A little tip for where to catch some great dancing is to stay late at some of the more popular milongas when most have gone home, there is some more space for dancing it is here you can witness some of the better dancers get up and throwing some shapes. As entertaining and more so than many shows especially given its spontaneity or maybe because of it.
New Years day was spent in El Tigre about one hour by train out of the city. A quaint little town. Took a 40 min boat ride on the river and had the worst meal since I arrived took one bite and no more.
