Just finished my first month and it has flown. 220+ hours of classes and milongas till yesterday. The feet are fine but my favourite pair of shoes are nearing the end of their useful life, maybe another months dancing left in them. I still haven't bought any CD's I will wait till near the end of my stay and see how the finances are before I go down that alleyway. Could be dangerous if I started now.
I am still finding out about new teachers and trying classes with them. Some I stay with, one I left the class before it was half way through. I still hardly ever ask anyone to dance preferring to use the traditional way to request a dance a nod of the head "Cabezazo" its working well for me but during the first two weeks many times it was the fellow behind me she was nodding acceptance to, so now I do a quick scout around before I get up to be sure to be sure. When the milongas are very busy it can be very tricky as the women can be 4 or 5 rows deep, sometimes one you are not inviting accepts your invitation, I just go with it as dancing is the name of the game. Equally tricky is when you are sitting beside the best dancers as all eyes are in your direction but not on you. You got to be careful nodding in response to your friends conversation also, as somebody though I was asking them to dance. not someone I wanted to dance with either.
